ABSTRACT: The RRB Systems GROUNDFIGHT! Program is custom designed for law enforcement professionals worldwide.
By taking into consideration standard uniform police equipment, environmental conditions, psychological considerations and
tactical objectives of the modern police professional this ground defense course may just be the most complete and applicable
ever designed for the occupation.

The course is broken down into five sections, each addressing a different phase of the ground encounter. Presented in the form
of a rapidly escalating ground fight, the course content compelsthe student to develop solutions for unconventional police
combat situations.The course offers sound theories of defense, commensuratewith the modern rules of civilian policing.

Phase 1: PREPARATION!
A study of the environmental conditions which influence nearly every episode of ground defense. New research regarding
common physiological reactions to the stress of a ground fight. Topics include The Intimate Distance, Stress, The Natural
Resistance to Killing, The Use of Force Model, Common Misconceptions of Contemporary Ground Defense Programs and
Achieving a Winning Mindset.

Phase 2: STRATEGY!
The defining of objectives to pursue when involved in an active ground encounter. Topics include; Zones of defense,
Defensive Posture, Stalling Tactics for the Exhausted Officer. Turning up the Heat and Rising to a Standing Position.

Phase 3: BREAKDOWN!
Methods for taking and keeping control of a subject who operates from a multi-point base. This phase teaches officers
technical skills needed to dominate an aggressor’s powerful ground position. Topics include: Breaking Down an
Opponents Base, Climbing the Pile, Centering, and Joint Compression.

Phase 4: EMERGING!
What do you do when conventional tactics fail? This phase is the most provacative and talked about portion of the
GROUNDFIGHT! Training Program. RRB Systems tackles the the tough issues of facing imminent death in the close
quarter ground environment. Rarely discussed in civilian law enforcement training, EMERGING! breaks new ground in
delvering tactical solutions to that defining moment when you are facing the ‘ultimate sacrifice’. Topics include: Getting up
in Spite of the Pressure to Keep You Down, Anything…defined, Close Quarter Strikes, Weapons of the Top Pocket,
Carotid Compressions and Drawing and Firing

Phase 5: SECURING!
A refreshing look at new tactics for applying handcuffs and stabilizing a supect’s movement while fully involved in the
ground encounter. Topics include Turnover tactics and Ground Stabilization.

Clothing and footwear for defensive tactics instruction. Duty belt with holster, training weapons, inert aerosols impact weapons and handcuffs.
